Indology Goa is
organizing an International Cuisine Conference on Asian
Traditional Cuisine "United We Eat" in Goa between
September 2-5, 2007.
The aim of this Conference is to examine the evolution, benefits
and state of research as well as the potential on the diet, and
problems associated with its survival. While the West is looking
at Eastern diet and renouncing packed food, their promotion of
junk food in Asia is going unabated. In a world of fast food,
junk food, processed food and other similar "temptations,"
traditional diets may be the only viable alternative even though
many specialists believe that Traditional Asian Diet is an
endangered species. Our aim is to develop cultural communication
between Asian countries. The focus of this year's conference
will be on Healthy Traditional Cuisines and their relevance and
integration with modern fast paces life and food styles. The aim
is also to set this as a platform for a cross-cultural
communication between participants of Asian countries and all
those who value Asian ways of life. |
